Evaluation of the new version of the magazine (Issue VIII)
 
Folk Culture

 

Folklore arena in the Arab World is in dire need for a specialized scientific journal, with a new vision, regular issuance and is open to contributions by researchers from everywhere. It should be in line with new trends in the research on world and regional cultures and be open to its concepts and calls to preserve and protect "non-material cultural heritage". With all respects to contributions made by current and past journals, and due recognition to its pioneering role, we are pleased to announce the inauguration of Folk Culture , a quarterly journal specialized in Arabic folklore in particular and world folklore in general. This journal shall be printed in Bahrain and distributed worldwide with the cooperation of International Folklore Organization that includes 184 member state in Unesco as a Non-Government Organization. It is hoped that the first issue will be out at the beginning of 2008. Folk Culture shall be published in 240 pages of 27x21 cm on a colored mat paper. 160 pages shall be in Arabic with remaining 80 pages devoted to synopsis in English and French of published articles.

             

 

 

A Scientific Committee consisting of leading experts in the field of folklore from various countries of the world was formed. This Committee includes the following names:

Scientific Committee: 

The Scientific Committee shall arbiter materials received for publishing with names of authors concealed as commonly practiced in similar cases. It shall determine its suitability for publication. An Advisory Committee was formed to give advice, develop and follow up on future publications.
